Plot Summary
The film begins with Bond infiltrating a North Korean military base, which results in his capture and 14 months of imprisonment and torture. After his release in a prisoner exchange, M suspects he may have revealed state secrets under duress and revokes his 007 status. Bond, feeling betrayed, goes rogue to clear his name and uncover the real traitor. His investigation leads him to a mysterious British billionaire named Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and his assistant Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike), as well as an NSA agent named Jinx Johnson (Halle Berry). The primary villain plot involves a diamond-encrusted satellite weapon, "Icarus," capable of focusing solar energy to clear minefields or target specific locations on Earth.
